Rodeo is This Weekend in Amite
The 11th Annual TPSO Mounted Division Rodeo is Friday (September 23rd) and Saturday (September 24th) from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM at the Florida Parishes Arena in Amite, Louisiana.
Slidell Swat Team Called Out on Barricaded Subject
Around 6:00 Am this morning (September 21, 2022), the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force attempted to serve a warrant at The Lofts apartments on Spartan Drive in Slidell on 27-year-old Tyrin Wiltz of New Orleans for Attempted Second Degree Murder (NOPD), narcotics related charges (NOPD), and a probation warrant (St. Bernard).
While attempting to serve the warrant, Wiltz barricaded himself inside of the apartment, along with his girlfriend and two young children. The Slidell Police S.W.A.T. team was requested and negotiators immediately began to communicate with the suspect. Negotiators were able to convince Wiltz to release his girlfriend and the two young children. Wiltz eventually surrendered peacefully, and was taken into custody. All persons involved were unharmed during the incident.

Corey Lott (age 22 with Franklinton, La. address) was booked on the charges of Theft/Shoplifting and Convicted Felon in Possession of Firearm by the Franklinton Police Department. Bond set at $25000.00.
Sarah Sanders (age 36 with Mt. Hermon, La. address) was booked on the charges of Theft/Shoplifting, Possession of Schedule II Drugs, and Failure to Appear (2 counts) by the Franklinton Police Department. Bond set at $6500.00.
Joe Polkey (age 36 with Broussard, La. address) was booked on the charge of Exploitation of the Infirm by the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office. Bond set at $3500.00.
Kaid Elliott (age 18 with Franklinton, La. address) was booked on the charge of Attempted Simple Burglary by the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office. Released on $3500.00 bond.

Disturbance 1. Hurricane Fiona
Hurricane Fiona will continue to impact the Turks and Caicos this morning. Tropical storm conditions are possible on Bermuda by late Thursday. Fiona is expected to affect Atlantic Canada as powerful cyclone late Friday and Saturday.
Disturbance 2. Western Tropical Atlantic
A tropical wave is a couple hundred miles east of the southern Windward Islands. The system is likely to become a tropical depression within the next couple of days. The disturbance is forecast to move west-northwestward across the southern Windward Islands today and then move toward the central Caribbean Sea later this week. Formation chance through 48 hours...high...70 percent and formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.
Disturbance 3. East Central Tropical Atlantic
A tropical wave is located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. Despite a dry environment, slow development of this system is possible over the next several days as it moves northwestward and then westward over the tropical Atlantic. Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent and formation chance through 5 days...low...30 percent.
Disturbance 4. Eastern Tropical Atlantic
A tropical wave is forecast to move off the west coast of Africa on Thursday. Thereafter, environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for some development, and a tropical depression could form this weekend while the system moves slowly northward, between west Africa and the Cabo Verde Islands. Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent and formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.

Daevon Gay Arrested – Wanted for Murder of Jawalski Wiley in Bogalusa
On Sunday (September 18, 2022) morning, Daevon Gay was arrested in Houston, Texas as a fugitive from Bogalusa, wanted for Second Degree Murder.
Warrants had been obtained for Gay for Second Degree Murder, Illegal Use of Weapons, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Gay is accused of fatally shooting Jawalski Wiley on August 27, 2022 on Atlanta Street in Bogalusa. Detectives quickly identified Gay as the suspect in Wiley’s murder after witnesses were interviewed, and a search for Gay has been ongoing. Detectives had information that Gay had fled to Houston, and have been in contact with Houston Detectives. Then on Sunday morning, the Bogalusa Police Department received an anonymous tip from a caller in Houston, giving Gay’s location at an apartment complex. Houston P.D. was contacted, located Gay, and he was arrested. He is currently being held in Harris County Jail awaiting extradition proceedings.
Gay is the second Bogalusa murder suspect currently housed in the Harris County Jail. Just last week Detectives identified Broderick Chatmon Jr. as the suspect in the murder of Typolia Peters Jr., that occurred in August of last year. Chatmon is being held in Harris County on weapons charges, and a hold was placed on him as a fugitive from Bogalusa for First Degree Murder and other charges.

Donovan Taylor (age 20 with Kenner, La. address) was booked on the charges of Possession of Marijuana (3rd Offense), Protective Order Violation, and Resisting an Officer by the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office. Released on $2500.00 bond.
James Blackwell (age 53 with Franklinton, La. address) was booked on the charges of Theft of Auto/Vehicle and Contempt of Court by the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office. Released on $4250.00 bond.
John McGowan (age 55 with Bogalusa, La. address) was booked on the charge of Failure to Register as Sex Offender by the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office. No bond set at this time.
Jay Langlois (age 57 with Bogalusa, La. address) was booked on the charges of Domestic Abuse Battery/Strangulation and False Imprisonment by the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office. No bond set at this time.
Timothy Pavolini (age 63 with Franklinton, La. address) was booked on the charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Resisting a Police Officer with Force or Violence, Possession of Schedule II Drugs, and Interference with Medical Treatment by the Franklinton Police Department. Bond set at $7500.00.

Roderick Johnson (age 38 with Bogalusa, La. address) was booked In From Court
Frank Cangelosi (age 50 with Franklinton, La. address) was booked In From Court
Bradley Wall (age 47 with Franklinton, La. address) was booked on the charges of Inadequate Windshield, No Seat Belt, No Drivers License, No License Plate, Possession of Schedule II Drugs, and Contempt of Court by the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office. Bond set at $5000.00.

Tropical Disturbances Today
Disturbance 1. Hurricane Fiona - NO THREAT TO US
Hurricane Fiona is moving north-northwest over the southwest Atlantic Ocean. Heavy rainfall and life-threatening flash flooding will continue over the Dominican Republic today and impacts around the center of Fiona will impact the Turks and Caicos through the afternoon. Interests in Bermuda should continue to monitor the progress of Fiona.
Disturbance 2. Central Tropical Atlantic - KEEP AN EYE ON THIS ONE
A tropical wave is located several hundred miles east of the Windward Islands and moving westward at 15-20 mph. Gradual development of this system is forecast during the next several days as the system approaches the Windward Islands, and a tropical depression could form by the latter part of this week as the system moves into the eastern and central Caribbean sea. Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent and formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.
Disturbance 3. Central Subtropical Atlantic - NO THREAT TO US
An area of low pressure is located over the central subtropical Atlantic, about 950 miles west-southwest of the westernmost Azores. Environmental conditions appear marginally favorable for additional development, and a tropical depression is likely to form within the next day or so before upper-level winds become less conducive later this week. The system should move generally northward or northeastward while remaining over the open waters of central subtropical Atlantic. Formation chance through 48 hours...high...80 percent and formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent.
