WPSS Superintendent To Be Named

UPDATE (8:12 PM): We have been advised that Jennifer Thomas is the new WPSS Superintendent.

The Washington Parish School Board is meeting at 4:00 PM today (April 11, 2024) in a Special Board Meeting that should result in the employment of a new Superintendent with the Washington Parish School System. 

Although the meeting begins at 4:00 PM, it is unknown when a decision will be announced. The Agenda calls for the Board “to enter into Executive Session under LA R.S. 42:17A (1) concerning the discussion of character, professional competence or physical or mental health of candidates for the position of Superintendent.”

Afterwards, the Board is to return to Regular Session and then “Consider a motion to employ the Superintendent with the Washington Parish School System.”
