Obituary

Donald "Donnie" Alvie Schilling

June 17, 1961 - October 27, 2023

Donald “Donnie” Alvie Schilling, a resident of Bogalusa, LA passed away at the age of 62 on Friday, October 27, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his precious family.

Born to his loving parents Paul and Elaine Schilling on June 17, 1961. He was an active member of Ben’s Ford Baptist Church where he led several small group studies through the years.  He is the author of the book “Who What Why When Where and How of Spiritual Warfare”.

Through the years he enjoyed riding in the wind on his motorcycle, sitting by water enjoying the splendor of God’s creation, driving 18 wheelers cross country, driving dump trucks and studying the Word of God to grow more like Jesus.  One of his favorite phrases in the Bible was “But God”.  Oh, where would we be, if God did not step in.  He also enjoyed spending time with family & friends as much as possible, sitting on his porch listening to the birds chirp, watching the squirrels run across the yard & hummingbirds fly up to their feeder.  Donnie had a great love for his family and friends no matter what that looked like through the changes of his life.  We ALL love you Donnie for that!!

Donnie is survived by his wife of twelve years, Dee Ann; his sisters, P. Dianne Schilling (Darrell Carlisle) and Dale S. (Tommy) Tims; his children, by birth Maren Schilling (Jonathan Prats) and Michael Schilling; his children by marriage, Deanna, Christin, Amanda (Mark) and Ein; his grands, Jayden, K’Mauri and Ella and many nieces and nephews and other children whom he was a father figure to through his life.

Donnie is preceded in death by his loving parent’s Paul and Elaine Schilling and his brother, David C. Schilling.

Celebration of his homecoming will be held at Ben’s Ford Baptist Church from 5pm-8pm on Monday, October 30, 2023, and continuing Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from 9am-11am with services beginning at 11am.
