Jacob Andrew Jones

October 13, 1993 - October 26, 2023

Jacob Andrew Jones went to be with our Heavenly Father unexpectedly on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the young age of 30. He was born October 13, 1993, to Jason and Melanie. He was a life-long resident of Bogalusa, LA but has lived temporarily in other places as well. Jacob was currently working at Louisiana Plastics in West Monroe, LA. He loved hunting, fishing, and ultimately anything to do with the outdoors. Jacob enjoyed cooking for his family and claimed to be the best cook out of the family (which he was). He also enjoyed listening to music. Jacob loved his family just as much as his family loved him. 

Jacob is survived by his parents, Melanie (Willie “J.R.”) Jenkins and Jason Jones (Kim Fenwick); his siblings, Christopher “Ryan” Jones and Breanna Jones; and his maternal grandparents, Dixie and Cyrus Bergeron and Larry and Annise Smith.  He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends as well. 

Jacob was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rufus and Bonnie Mae Jones; uncle, Sam Jones; cousin, Stanley Jones; aunts, Brenda Freeman and Joyce Merrit; maternal great grandparents, Bernice and Earnest Smith and Dixie and Joe Provost; and also, a dear friend, Chiquita Rice. 

A memorial service will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Caleb Martin officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers, Jacob’s family has requested that donations be made to Broken Wings in Bastrop, Louisiana.
