Mickey Chet Painter

October 22, 1982 - October 27, 2023

Mickey Chet Painter, age 41 and a resident of Mount Hermon, passed away Friday afternoon October 27, 2023 at Ochsner Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was a Class of 2000 Graduate of Mount Hermon High School and later worked as a correctional officer at Rayborn Correctional Center. Chet loved playing his favorite video games and spending time on his computer. He had a special place in his heart for all animals and loved his pet dog “Sophie”. Chet was always a caring and giving person that looked out for the needs of others. He was a wonderful son, brother, grandson and friend that will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Survived by: Parents: Mickey Painter and Sheila Simmons Painter of Mt. Hermon; Sister: Chanda Simmons Goings of Mt. Hermon; Grandmother: Della Ruth Simmons; Aunts and Uncles: Paul and Celia Painter, Mel and Teresa Painter, Debbie Painter Gill and Johnny Gill, Geneva Money and Felder Goings, Janet Seibert; Great-Aunts: Wilda Morgan, Claudelle Talley; Also numerous cousins and many friends

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Farrell Simmons, grandparents Norman Painter and Junie Riley Painter, brothers in law Arlie Goings, Carroll Allen Duncan, Jr. and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday November 1st from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday with Rey Wuerzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Simmons Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to help with final expenses.
