The Washington Parish School Board met on February 8, 2024 and addressed an Agenda that included
- Administering the Oath of Office to Board Member District 2, Marsha Newman, replacing John Wyble until an election is held in the fall of 2024.
- Appointing an Interim Superintendent, replacing Francis Varnado. Jennifer Thomas was appointed.
- A presentation on the Jones Creek Rosenwald School.
- Approving the advertisement for the Superintendent position.
- Approving December, 2023 Financial Statements, adopting the 2024/2025 school calendar, adopting various policies, and hearing the Personnel and Superintendent's reports.
