Arthur Ray Tate

February 27, 1948 — September 10, 2026

Arthur Ray Tate was born in Franklinton, LA to the late Dorothy L. Tate. Arthur Ray and was guided under his grandmother the late Daisy Griffin who raised him and his uncle Arion Barker.

Arthur Ray was a member of Sweet Rest Baptist Church. He graduated from Franklinton High School and then enlisted in the United States Army until retirement. While serving in the United States Army, Arthur Ray received numerous awards and certificates for his years of service. Arthur Ray was employed by the United States Postal Service until retirement.

Arthur Ray leaves behind to mourn and celebrate his life, two brothers, Lionel Wilson and Edmond (Bernadine) Tate; two sisters, Patricia Tate and Bessie Smith and a host of other relatives and friends.

Arthur Ray is preceded in death by one sister Hope Tate and a host of other close relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 9:00AM - 11:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM at Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church,1811 Desmare Street Franklinton, LA 70438.
