Margaret Ann Corkern Seal

January 20, 1936 - December 11, 2024

Margaret Ann Corkern Seal, a very loved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on December 11, 2024 at the age of 88. She was born in Amite, Louisiana, to John and Viola Corkern. She grew up with 7 siblings and loved sharing stories of their childhood. Her oldest sister gave her the nickname “squirmy” because she couldn’t be still. This name followed her rightly so throughout her life. She graduated from Amite High School and worked retail in Amite.

Margaret married the love of life, John G. Seal on October 23, 1959. They built a life together with 3 children and lots of memories. Margaret has been a member of Canaan Baptist Church for over 60 years and was the church secretary for over 35 years. Her greatest joy came from sharing the love of Jesus, time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved working in her garden, cooking for her family, cheering on the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. Most of all she needed an immediate update on the Pine Raiders, coached by her grandson Bradley Seal. She loved to talk and never met a stranger. Most of all, she was not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ and sharing her faith with others.

She is survived by her children, George Donald Seal, Franklinton and Jan Seal Kaiser (Victor), Cypress, Texas. Grandchildren Bradley Wallace Seal, (Kristina), Jason Scott Seal (Haley), George Dillon Seal, Macie Goings (Robert), Dalton Lee Kaiser (McKinley), Stephanie Kaiser and Benjamin Kaiser. Great Grandchildren, Miles Seal, Jett Seal, Mila Seal, Eva Seal, Berkley Goings, Callen Goings, Stella Seal, Greta Kaiser, Stephanie Kaiser, Abraham Kaiser and Everlie Miller. As well as numerous kids who called her Maw Maw throughout the years.

A celebration of life will take place on December 16, 2024 at Canaan Baptist Church, Franklinton, Louisiana officiated by Bro. Stanley Adams and Bro. Brent King. Visitation will be from 9am – 11am, with funeral services immediately following. Margaret will be laid to rest next to her husband and son in Canaan Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Bradley Wallace Seal, Jason Scott Seal, George Dillon Seal, Victor Kaiser, Robert Goings and Christopher Waskom.

Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
