Carly Stokes and Beverly Ann Stokes

Carly Stokes, age 81 and Beverly Ann Stokes, age 75, residents of Mt. Hermon, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Carley and Ann had been married for 57 years. They were members of First Baptist Church where Carley had served as deacon. They devoted their lives to their children and grandchildren. 

Carley retired from CLECO after 35 years and was employed with WST. Carley was very attentive to Ms. Ann. He was a Marine Veteran. He enjoyed watching western movies and reading books by Louis L'Amour.

Ann was a LPN for St Tammany Hospital for 38 years. She was known as the D.I.Y. Queen by her family. She enjoyed tending to her flowers. She often went shopping at Thrift Stores and Flea Markets. She went above and beyond for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed talking and spending time with her sister Janice Smith and best friend Janice Penton.

Survived by:  Son: James Stokes of Mt. Hermon; 3 Grandchildren: Brenton James Stokes and fiancé Jenna Cosse, Kelly Denise Stokes, Colby James Stokes; 4 Great grandchildren: Karmen Nicole Stokes, Braylen James Stokes, Wesley Hunter Stokes, Oaklynn Faith Stokes; Ann’s Sister and brother in law: Janice D. and Paul Smith of Osyka; Nieces and nephews: Shelly Starrett, Cindy Anne Smith, Damon Smith, Anthony Duncan

They were preceded in death by a grandson Hunter James Stokes, Ann’s parents Gordon C. and Faye Crowe Duncan, a brother Bobby Duncan, Carley’s parents Otto and Cora Lee Lebo Stokes, and his seven siblings.

Visitation will be at First Baptist Church Monday, July 8th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dale Parker and Jim Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Maples Cemetery.
