Lester Dykes

August 8, 1941 - July 3, 2024

Lester Dykes, age 82 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 at his residence. He was married to the love of his life Dianne Turnage Dykes for 57 years and was very fond of his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He retired as a truck driver and then worked with the Washington Parish Government. Lester enjoyed doing wood work making many projects.

Survived by: Wife: Dianne Turnage Dykes of Franklinton; Daughter and son in law: LaSonda Rachelle and Brandon Luper of Franklinton; Son and daughter in law: Darren Scott and Pamela Dykes of Texas; 4 Grandchildren: Darrien Christina and Caleb Creel, Jacey Cascelia Luper, Jacob Scott Dykes and fiancé Anna Branch,Hunter Braden Luper; 2 Great grandchildren: Landry Shaye Creel and Cooper Dale Creel; 3 Brothers and a sister in law: Leslie Dykes of Angie, Harvey Dykes, Bert and Rhonda Dykes both of Bogalusa Brothers in law and sister in law: Larry and Peggy Turnage, Truett Roberts

He was preceded in death by his parents Plessie and Velma Gerald Dykes, 4 brothers and a sister and 2 sisters in law and a brother in law.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday, July 7th from 12 pm until time of funeral service to be held at 2 pm with Eld. Doyle Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
