Charles Ray Phillips, Jr. has been booked for Simple Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property related to the burglary at Wendy’s Restaurant, located at 709 Washington St on April 29, 2024. The arrests follow a rigorous two-month investigation led by Sgt. Chris McElveen and Lt. James "Tiger" Folks of the Franklinton Police Department. This investigation involved extensive review of video surveillance footage and collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies utilizing advanced License Plate Reader (LPR) technology. Sanchez Harold, known for previous criminal activities, is currently on parole for prior offenses. Lt. Folks, who had previously apprehended Harold in 2013 for the burglary of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Franklinton, noted Harold's prior conviction and sentencing to prison for that incident."
As part of a collaboration among the 12 involved agencies, Harold and Phillips, Jr., were identified as suspects in the case. Harold was taken into custody on July 3, 2024 for the TPSO case while Phillips was taken into custody on the same date for the Franklinton case. Both are pending additional jail bookings in the multiple jurisdictions they are accused of committing these crimes in.
Sheriff Gerald Sticker and the TPSO Criminal Investigations Division is grateful to our partner agencies, especially Denham Springs Police, Town of Livingston Police and Franklinton Police, for their team work on ending this growing crime spree.
