Edna Ann Manton Steele

April 6, 1974 - July 16, 2024

Edna Ann Manton Steele, age 50 and a resident of Bogalusa, LA, passed away on July 16, 2024 in Bogalusa, LA.  She was born in Bogalusa on April 6, 1974.  Known for her love for animals, she also enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed visiting the mountains whenever she got a chance.

Edna is survived by her children David “DJ” (Faith) Creel, Jr., Brandon Creel, and Logan Manton; her mother Sylvia (Ray) Penton; her father Elbert (Bobbie) Miller; her significant other Orlando Medina; three brothers Elbert Miller III, Chris Penton, and Jamie Sykes; four sisters Vanessa (Eduardo “Lalo”) Vega, Kelly Miller, Julie (Cliff) Miller, Shelly Sykes; grandchildren Hayley Manton, Coleman Creel, Arabelle Creel, Kaleb Creel, Gabriel Creel, Caston Creel, Annaleigh Creel, Camellia Creel, Cameron Creel, and Delilah Creel; a special aunt Sharon Varnado; special cousins Brandy Carroll and Tina (Issac) Sonnier; her loyal companion Paco; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her biological father Alfred Johnny Manton; her grandparents Melvin (Estelle) Welch, Katie (Jack) McNabb, Elbert (Marie) Miller, and Minnie (Ed) Sabine.

A service to celebrate Edna will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home starting at 2:00 pm.  A visitation will begin that morning at 10:00 am and will remain open until the service time where Rev. Jerry Duncan and Rev. Charles Ray Creel will officiate the service.
