Mary Dykes Woodward

December 27, 1952 - June 19, 2024

Mary Dykes Woodward, age 71 and a resident of Mount Hermon, passed away early Wednesday morning June 19, 2024 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on December 27, 1952. Mary was a lady of many talents and many titles. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Forest Manor in Covington, Good Samaritan and Heritage Manor nursing homes in Franklinton for many years, before her health prevented her from working. Mary had a passion about caring for those who were in need and the elderly, as she would treat each patient as if they were her own family. She was a Godly lady who went above and beyond to do for the churches she attended. She enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and fishing. Mary loved with her whole heart and was always there for her children and family.

Survived by: 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Tracey Rachelle and Robert Pease of Mt. Hermon, Shanna Marie and Billy Brooks of Franklinton; 2 Sons and a Daughter in law: Robert Jamieson and Tammy Woodward, Danny James Woodward all of Franklinton; Grandchildren and Spouses: Brittany and Scott Smith, Ariel and Joseph Creekmore, Whitney and Austin Stuart, Kaitlyn Woodward, Brianna Bryant, Creighton and Talia Woodward, Billy Brooks, II, Daniel Bryant, Caiden Woodward, Kenneth Brooks; Great-grandchildren: Selah Smith, Liam Carver, Remi Breland; Sister: Elsie Forbes of Angie; Brothers: Darrell Dykes, Melvin Dykes both of Franklinton; Sisters in law and Brothers in law: Deborah Dykes of Franklinton, Christine Woodward of LaPlace, Elvia and Douglas Taylor of Angie, Evaline Rowell of Tylertown; Also numerous special nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Robert S. Woodward, parents James F. Dykes and Althea Stafford Dykes, sister and brother in law Rosa and Jerry Penton, brothers Kenneth Ray Dykes, James Calvin Dykes, Johnny Edward Dykes, son in law Floyd Ordoyne, sisters in law Margie Dykes, Patricia Dykes, father in law and mother in law Robert E. Lee Woodward and Luvell Hartzog Woodward, brother in law Claude Rowell.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday June 20th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Friday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Friday with Bro. Scott Smith and Bro. Raymond Garcia officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Gerald Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help with final expenses.
