Covington Woman Arrested by AG Murrill's Office for Embezzling More Than $60,000

Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office arrested 35 year-old Heather Long of Covington Tuesday (June 18, 2024) for allegedly embezzling more than $60,000 from the Lake Castle Parents Club in Madisonville.

On March 8, 2024, agents with Attorney General’s Office initiated an investigation after receiving a referral from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding accusations of theft by a former president of the Lake Castle Parents Club in Madisonville. The agents’ investigation revealed that between August 2022 and December 2023, Long allegedly embezzled over $60,000 from the Lake Castle Parents Club in Madisonville.

Agents secured an arrest warrant for Long, charging her with Theft Over $25,000. Long was placed under arrest in Madisonville and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail without incident. Bond was set at $10,000.00.

The investigation is ongoing.
