It is First Responder Appreciation Month at the Franklinton Branch of the Washington Parish Library and Amber Shepler reports that they had an amazing turnout for the fire department story time. Amber reports that "We had an incredible story time on November 30! Our friend Deputy Chief Cody took time out of his schedule to read “I Want to Be a Firefighter“ to us! We learned all about being a firefighters and how they make our community safer! Deputy Chief Cody showed the kids all of the tools and equipment on the fire engine, ran the sirens for us, and the kids got to play in the water! Thank you, Deputy Chief Cody, for coming to teach us about being a firefighter!"
