Sandra Anita Jones Hunt

December 5, 1942 - November 30, 2023

Sandra Anita Jones Hunt, age 80 and a resident of the Enon Community, passed away peacefully Thursday night November 30, 2023 at her home. She was born on the family property in Enon on December 5, 1942 and died on the same property just a few days short of her 81st birthday. She operated a greenhouse and flower business, Sandra’s Pot Garden, for many years and she loved gardening at her home. Recently, Sandra grew delicious tomatoes that she sold at the Farmer’s Market in Franklinton. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Franklinton that truly believed in serving others in need. Sandra acted as a “nurse” to several of her family members during their most difficult times in life. She loved fishing on the Bogue Chitto River behind her home and enjoyed quilting, making many lovely quilts that her family members still use today. Sandra was an excellent cook, especially her dressing and chicken‘n dumplins. She also baked chocolate pies and cakes, delicious divinity and other Christmas candy that she gave to her loved ones each year. Sandra was always a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survived by: Husband of 65 years and 7 months: Levrett Hunt; 5 Children and Spouses: Michael E. Hunt, Wayne and Mary Hunt, Rebecca and Gavin Moon, Deborah and Chris Ard, David R. Hunt; 12 Grandchildren and 15 Great-grandchildren; Sister and Brother in law: Patsy and Tom Sandifer; Also survived by a brother in law, sister in law and numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her mother Troy Jenkins Jones, father and step-mother Virgil F. Jones and Edna P. Jones, sister Judy Smith, grandparents Horace Jones and Vinnie Stafford Jones, Fred Jenkins and Maude Green Jenkins.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Monday December 4th from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 pm Monday with Rev. John Mark Franklin, Rev. Gavin Moon and Rev. Leon Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
