Eva Nell Brumfield Bankston

November 6, 1933 - December 7, 2023

Eva Nell Brumfield Bankston, age 90 and a lifelong resident of the Hays Creek Community, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning December 7, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 6, 1933 and was a founding member of Hays Creek Southern Baptist Church. Eva was the last surviving of the original founders of her church and also the last of an entire generation of her family. She planted a good vegetable garden every year and enjoyed picking her peas, corn and potatoes. Eva also enjoyed tending to her flowers, working around her house and fishing. She was an excellent cook, especially her delicious fried chicken, and she always enjoyed having her large family over for Sunday dinners.

Survived by: 3 Sons and a Daughter in law: Robert Elton Bankston, Thomas Alton and Vickie Bankston, Lester Dewayne Bankston; 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Judy Dianne Thomas, Lynn and David Lowery; 10 Grandchildren and Spouses: Alicia and Shane Breland, Marshall and Jessica Bankston, Bridget Bankston, Aimee Bankston, Jason Bankston and Stephanie Maples, Leighann Luper and fiancé Troy Ordone, Selena Bankston and fiancé Brady Polkey, Dewayne and Jordan Bankston, Levi and Brandie Morgan, Erica and Ryan Payne; 23 beloved Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-great-grandchild; Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years Thomas Alvin Bankston, daughter in law Donna James Bankston, grandson Robert Allen “Robbie” Bankston, grandson in law Christopher Luper, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, an infant sister and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday December 10th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Frederick Brumfield and Rev. David Easterling officiating. Burial will follow in the Hays Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
