Jody Nelson Miley

July 26, 1978 - November 27, 2023

Jody Nelson Miley, age 45 and a resident of Pine, passed away Monday November 27, 2023. He was born on July 26, 1978 and was a Class of 1996 graduate of Varnado High School. Jody worked as a deck hand and supervisor on tug boats for several years. He loved fishing and his favorite pastime was running trot lines on the Bogue Chitto and Pearl rivers. He also enjoyed target shooting with his pellet rifle. Jody was talented with hands and could fix just about anything. He repaired washers and dryers and worked on tractors and other equipment. Jody would often visit flea markets and auctions, selling some of the items he had repaired. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.

Survived by: Father: Kenny Miley of Greenwell Springs, LA; Brother and Sister in law: Chris and Ginger Miley of Angie; Sister and Brother in law: Kimberly and Mike Dufrene of Greenwell Springs; Niece: Sierra Miley; Fiance: Rachael Ballard and her parents Freddie and Pearl Ballard; Step-children: Macey McNeese and her sons Ethan and Emmett, Kody Kuhn; Grandmother: Vicki Hodge of McComb, MS; Aunts and Uncles: Veronica and Walter O’Berry of Bogalusa, Brenda and Kendall Parker of Franklinton; Also numerous cousins and a host of friends

He was preceded in death by his mother Cheree Cormier Sumrall, grandparents Clinton and Doris Miley, O’Neal and Mildred Cormier, grandfather Jim Hodge

Visitation and funeral service will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday December 1st from 9:00 am until 10:00 am with Eld. Yancey Magee officiating. Burial will follow in the Miley Cemetery on Seven Mile Road.
