Although wearing a DOT-approved helmet, Jenkins suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Dufrene was properly restrained, sustained minor injuries, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
