Ralph Geoffrey Deuel - Whitney

October 17, 1952 - October 1, 2023

Geoffrey Deuel - Whitney died on Sunday, October 1, 2023, after a battle with cancer. Geoff was born on October 17, 1952, in New York, and grew up in Ocean Springs. He was the oldest of four children and lived in California, Italy, New York, Philadelphia and finally in Louisiana with his wife of 28 years, Grace Whitney.

Geoff had a varied career that evolved from skilled carpentry, photography, to Wall Street, and finally to Cypress lumber sales from his Dogtrot-Lumber.com base in Louisiana. He was an artist and Machinima filmmaker whose work can be seen on YouTube under Gumbo Productions. He was an active member of SecondLife.com, a virtual community where he cultivated friendships and artistic opportunities for over 15 years. He had a widespread circle of friends who enjoyed his stories, humor and his creativity, whether in photography, filmmaking, woodworking or his observations about the world and people.

Geoff is survived by his wife, two sons, two grandchildren, nieces and a nephew, two sisters and a brother.
