Drugs, Firearms Located When Deputies Stop Man Wanted For Violating Protective Order

Drugs and firearms were located inside a vehicle Saturday (October 21, 2023) morning after St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies stopped a man, who was wanted following a domestic disturbance which occurred at a Mandeville-area residence Friday (October 20, 2023) night.

Shortly before 9 p.m. Friday, STPSO deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 4100 block of Sharp Road near Mandeville after a woman’s estranged spouse, 32 year-old Roy Gogue, forced his way into her home, took her father’s ashes and got into a physical altercation with another individual who was inside.  While at the residence, Gogue armed himself with a firearm and pointed it at the other individual but left the residence prior to deputies arriving. The woman had an active protective order already in place against Gogue.

Warrants were obtained for the arrest of Gogue on the charges of Violation of a Protective Order (felony),  Aggravated Burglary (felony), Aggravated Assault, Theft (felony), and Threatening/ Harassing Phone Calls.

Shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday morning, STPSO deputies observed Gogue’s white Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the area of Browns Village Road near Slidell and they conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Airport Road at Grantham College Road.

Once Gogue was in custody, a search warrant was obtained for his vehicle, and multiple different illicit narcotics, six illegally possessed firearms and a large amount of ammunition was located inside.

Gogue was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on the above listed warrants and additional numerous drug and firearms related offenses.
