Bogalusa City Council Approves Budgets for Fiscal Year 2023 (Video)

At a Special Call meeting of the Bogalusa City Council on June 8, 2023, the Council approved the
Operating and Capital budgets for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2023. During the two-hour meeting, the Council heard from the Mayor and his staff and heard from public. The Council engaged in discussions and asked questions of the Mayor and his staff in an effort to clarify the financial situation of the City. After receiving assurances that the proposed budget was accurate, the Council voted to approve.

The City has been functioning without an approved budget for fiscal year 2023. The budget requires the approval of the Council. The administration of Mayor Tyrin Troung, who took office January 1st, initially submitted a budget to the Council in mid-March with subsequent revisions, the latest being in mid-May.
