Brandon P. Forbes

January 31, 1985 - May 31, 2023

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have have kept the faith. Finally these is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day , and not to me only but also to all whom have loved his appearing.        II Timothy 4: 7-8

Brandon P. Forbes, age 38, was born January 31, 1985 to Sandra Forbes (Vernon) Cooley and Sam Griffin in Bogalusa, LA.  Brandon departed his life surrounded by family and friends on May 31, 2023 at Our Lady Of The Angels in Bogalusa, LA.  Brandon was a respectful  young man who loved his family. Brandon had a contagious smile that would light up a room. You could always count on him to cook, clean and do yard work wherever he was at. Brandon graduated from Bogalusa High School in 2003.

Brandon leaves to cherish his memories; his wife of 17 years Keywong Forbes; his five kids: Brandon Short, Jeremiah Cooley, Ashantiara Lucas, Tneiyah Lewis, Cameron Martin, and a bonus son Sean Fox; two sisters: La'Keshia Forbes and Shunta Peters both of Bogalusa, LA; four brothers: Kendall Berry, Vernon Huffman, Pokeyto Peters, and Quincey Forbes all of Bogalusa, LA; four bonus brothers: Darrick McCray, Roderick McCray, Lester Pigott, and Byron Harrington; his grandmothers: Celia Bell Forbes, Eddie B. Cooley, Evelin Griffin all of Bogalusa, LA; special aunts: Carol Varnado, Pamela Forbes, Shawanda Mingo, Martha Forbes, Shirley Forbes, Lenelva (Byron) Tyner and Patricia Gibson all of Bogalusa, LA; his God Mother Sandra Forbes, three nieces (Uncles Babies): Shaniyah Forbes, Skai Forbes and Kayona Bonds; and two special nephews: Omari Pigott, Ric'Kell Forbes all of Bogalusa, LA; five special cousins: Panielle Forbes, Katrina Forbes, Chasity Washington, Shar'Tan Tyner, Brittany Miles; one sister in law Tamara (Tammy) Franklin; one brother in law Bobby Lee Franklin II both of Bogalusa, LA and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Arnold Lee Forbes, Sr.; God Father/ Uncle Charles A. Forbes, Sr.; Uncles Jimmy Lee Forbes and Arnold Forbes, Jr. cousin Kristyona Fountain, cousin/God brother Charles Anthony Forbes Jr. (Hubba); bonus uncles Kim McGowan, Sr., mother in law Kay Magee; farther in law Roy Ann Fox, aunt Shirley Ruth Magee, grandmother in law Lizzie Ruth Magee.

The Forbes Family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time of our loss, whether it was a visit, phone call, a card, or even a thought. It was truly felt me. God continue to bless and keep each of you.

A viewing will be held  Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 11AM- 2PM,  at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 809 E Third Street Bogalusa, La. A funeral will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 2PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, La.
