Obituary

Mildred Wheat O'Quin

November 17, 1930 - March 8, 2023

Mrs. Mildred O’Quin a resident of Bogalusa, LA passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the age of 92.   She was a talented seamstress and gifted artist, a bass fiddle player, and dedicated housewife.  She was a manager at Restcare and former church secretary and treasurer.  She enjoyed watching Fox News and Facebooking.  She had a great love for her cats Zippo and Zack.  She was a God-fearing woman that loved the Lord and shared the gospel on Twitter frequently.

Mrs. Mildred is survived by her sons, Donald (Corinne) O’Quin Kenner and Ronald (Tara) O’Quin both of Bogalusa, LA; her daughters, Sydnie (Robert) Ezell, Terry Fontenot, Karen (Daniel) Fontenot, and Sandra (Geary) La’Masion all of Bogalusa, LA; two granddaughters she reared as her own, Wendy O’Quin Perrette, and Misty (Mark) Fortenberry; her grandchildren, Patrick (Tabetha) Ezell, Darren (Lauren) Ezell, April Hallinan, Kandi (Corey) Nicholson, Autumn Fontenot, Colby Fontenot, Kayla Fontenot, Taylor Fontenot, Nicholas O’Quin, Lauren McClendon, Logan O’Quin, Leah O’Quin; her great grandchildren, Rex Perrette, Ethan O’Quin, Desirae Calhoun, William McCreary, Drew Ezell, Jack Ezell, and Joseph Ezell; Aaliyah, Alexis, Aiden, Alaric, Kaitlin, Shelby,  and Dustin; her great great grandchildren, Noah, Liam, and Ciella; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Lepole Ralph O’Quin; her parents, Warren Wheat and Evy Josephine Hines Wheat; sons James Michael Ramsey and Guy Randall O'Quin; a daughter Kathy Darlene O'Quin; brothers, Jewel Wheat and Murphy J. Wheat; and her sisters, Lavelle Wilkins and Josie Warren Mizell.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until time for the services at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Clay Norwood officiating the services.  Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
