Maxine Rester Davis

October 21, 1945 - March 8, 2023

Maxine Rester Davis, age 77 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Wednesday morning March 8, 2023 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was a graduate of Enon High School before attending Pearl River Community College in Nursing. Maxine had a long career as a registered nurse, serving at numerous hospitals in the New Orleans area and also worked in home health for a time. She loved tending to her beautiful flower gardens and had hundreds of pretty azalea bushes on her property. Maxine enjoyed playing the piano and was an excellent seamstress earlier in life. She liked to can vegetables and make delicious jellies that she shared with her friends and family. Maxine was also a great cook, especially her chicken ‘n dumplins, gumbo and red beans and rice, which are just some of the family favorites.

Survived by: Husband of 37 years: Rick Davis of Franklinton; Son and Daughter in law: Jason and Carmen Harvison of Diamondhead, MS; Daughter and Son in law: Jill and James Breazeale of Abita Springs, LA; Grandchildren: Jacob Harvison, Eden Breazeale, Dane Breazeale, Wren Breazeale; Father in law: Rev. H.H. Davis of Ardmore, OK; Sisters in law and Brothers in law: Deatra and Charles Burnam of Ardmore, OK, Debbie and Gary Pratt of Lawton, OK, Fara and Ed Dyer of Grand Junction, CO; Also numerous nieces, nephews and many cousins

She was preceded in death by her parents Jason Bateman Rester and Freddie McNeese Rester, an infant brother and mother in law Reba Davis.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Tuesday March 14th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Tuesday with Rev. Leon Hickman and Rev. Derek Dantin officiating. Burial will follow in the Rester Cemetery.
