Jim Guynes

August 10, 1931 - January 8, 2023

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love his appearing.”  2 Timothy 4:7-8

On Sunday, January 8, 2023, Jim was called by our Heavenly Father to live eternally in his Heavenly home with him.

Jim leaves to cherish his loving memories, three sons, Eldry (Lucinda) Guynes of Laplcae LA, Don Guynes of Bogalusa, LA, Joesph White of Slidell, LA; one daughter, Marquita (Antonio) Peters of Bogalusa, LA; five grandsons, Terry Guynes, Chris Guynes, Brain Jackson, Corey Hodges and Kenyin Guynes; two granddaughters, Timeka (Darnell) Brown – Chapman, Beverly Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his ex-wife Willie Dean Guynes; two sons Andre Guynes and Brain Payne.

Drive through viewing Friday, January 13, 2023, from 3:00PM – 6:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11AM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel 809 E. Third Str Bogalusa, LA with Rev. Christopher Matthews – Officiating. Interment – Bogalusa Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
