Dorothy Ree Walter Grantham

March 16, 1936 - November 10, 2022

Mrs. Dorothy Ree Walter passed away peacefully at St. Tammany Parish Hospital on November 10, 2022. She was born on March 16, 1936, in Columbia, Mississippi, to the late Thomas and Retha Walters. Mrs. Grantham was a life-long resident of Bush, Louisiana. She attended Sullivan Vo-Tech where she earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mrs. Grantham worked at St. Tammany Parish Hospital serving her community for 26 years before retiring. She also delivered meals to homebound people for two years and was an extremely talented seamstress and quilt maker. Because of her selfless heart, she gave away most of the items she made. Throughout anything, the love for her children never wavered. She will be truly missed by many.

She is survived by four children: Shirley Rene Jenkins, William Douglas Grantham, Dennis Larue Grantham, and Marvin Anthony Grantham; two sisters: Betty Joyce Carter and Carolyn Patricia Olsen; and a loving grandmother of ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Grantham was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years: Marvin Grantham; three brothers: Thomas William Walters, Forest Felton Walters, and Nelson Oneal Walters; and two sisters: Cammie Louise Shields and Judith Ann Rowell.

Services will be on November 15, 2022 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.
