There has been a slight westward adjustment in the track and increase in the forecast intensity for Tropical Depression Nine. Tropical Depression Nine is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm by tonight and become a hurricane before entering the southeastern Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday. It is currently forecast to make landfall on the Florida peninsula on Wednesday
Confidence: There is normal confidence in the short-term forecast regarding TD9 and lower than normal confidence in the forecast beyond Monday. While less likely than the current forecast track, there are still several possible tracks farther to the west, so please continue to monitor the forecast for changes over the next few days.
