Obituary

Joseph Ladner

December 16, 1964 - March 25, 2022

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the  Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that last day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that loves his appearing.  2 Timothy $: 7-8.

Deacon Joseph "Joe" Ladner was born to Sister  Helen Riley and Joseph McFarland on December 16, 1964.  God called Deacon Ladner to his heavenly home on March 25,2022 because his work on earth was complete.  Joe as everyone called him, was known as a quiet guy with very few word.  However to those who really knew him, will say "but when he spoke he was honest and straight-forward.

As a family man, Deacon Joe was a loving and caring father and grandfather.  His relationship with his family was like none other.  He would voice how his children and grandchildren were a true blessing from God.  Every time he was with them, he made it a point to let them know how proud he was about all of their accomplishments and their path of life.  Deacon Joe's favorite thing to do which he loved and cherished, was to go to the country as they called it, to be surrounded by the family, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and a whole lot of fun.

Deacon Joe was a devoted member of I Am Covered Ministries of Pearl River, LA , under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Cynthia Plummer.  Brother Joe was ordained as a Deacon by Apostle Jenette B. Stokes and his Pastor on September 7, 2018.  O what joy this brought to his heart having this Godly call of Deacon to work in the kingdom as unto the Lord.  He proved that this was one of the happiest days of his life and the greatest honor bestowed upon him.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, Mother Helen Riley and Father Joseph McFarland, His wife- Edith Reed-Ladner, Daughter-Denise Desiree Ladner, son-Joseph Reed, and Brother-in-law  Ernest Davis.

Deacon Joe leaves to cherish his loving memories, Daughter-Irena Ladner-Johnson (Michael), Son-Brandon Ladner (Brittany) both from Fort Worth Texas, Daughter-Shambria Smith of Amite, LA.  Six grandchildren, Amiya, Bailey, Bj, Jade, Amya, and Hayden.  His siblings, W.C. Riley and Brian Riley of Lacomb, LA, Michael Riley (Alley) of Covington, LÃ, Fennie Riley of Abita Springs, Michelle Davis (Ernest), Sherin Danville (David), Shelia Alexander, Cynthia McFarland, Shannon McFarland, Elka Toussaint, Nakietha Toussaint Sampson(Darrel), and Mira Toussaint Johnson(Lawrence).  Also a host of nieces, nephews and friends that called him Uncle Joe.

May the works I've done speak for me. May the service I given speak for me.  When I'm resting in my grave there is nothing that can be said, May the works I've done speak for me.  Well Done Servant of God.

Services will be at Plainview Church of Christ Holiness USA in Mt. Hermon, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the Funeral at 1:00 PM.
