Linda Elaine Ladner Magee

February 26, 1946 - February 1, 2022

Linda Elaine Ladner Magee, age 75 and a resident of the Lawrence Creek community near Franklinton, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday night February 1, 2022. She was a graduate of Pine High School, and worked several jobs, including milking at the family dairy and working many years at TG&Y, before going back to school to pursue her lifelong goal of being a teacher. Linda taught special education at Thomas Elementary School for 25 years. She loved teaching and loved all of her students, some who were in her class, and many who were not. She loved her Thomas School family as well, and made many special friendships there. Linda was a member of New Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, where she often played the piano for services. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Linda was famous for her pound cakes, egg custard pies, and chicken and dumplings.

Linda is survived by her husband of 56 years, C.M. Magee, Jr., and her children and spouses: Carol (Willie) Hoyt, Sheryl (Brian) Holliday, Scott (Becky) Magee, and Shanda (Darren) Thomas; a brother: Doyle (Martha) Ladner; her grandchildren and spouses: Courtney (Chris) Kopelman, Mitchel Magee, Kayla (Jessie) Hoyt, Colton (Megan) Crain, LeAnna (Dustin) Kerbow, Stephanie (Dakota) McNeese, Chase Payne, Madison Thomas, Mallory Thomas, and Nate Holliday. Her great grandchildren: Rachel Hoyt, Sarah Hoyt, Taylor Hoyt, McKenli Hoyt, Elijah Copeland, Mia Kopelman, Aiden Crain, Remi Crain, Ayden Magee, Lane Magee, Weston Kerbow, Waylon Kerbow, Grady McNeese, Jaxx McNeese, and Breelyn McNeese. She also had many nieces and nephews whom she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Ladner and Eva McNeese Ladner, a brother, Donald Ladner, and her father in law and mother in law, Charles Melton and Maudine Magee.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday February 4th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Friday with Bro. Don Jacobs, Bro. Nate Graham, and Bro. Patrick Magee officiating. Burial will follow in the Magee Family Cemetery near her home.

Pallbearers will be Mitchel Magee, Colton Crain, Chase Payne, Dustin Kerbow, Jessie Hoyt, Dakota McNeese and David Pigott. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Kopelman and Nate Holliday.
