The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office has suspended the search for Eric Josh Williams, the boater missing since November 30, 2021. Williams, age 47 and a resident of Holden, and Joe Newby, age 50 and a resident of Covington, reportedly launched a boat on the Pearl River at Poole's Bluff near Bogalusa and authorities believe the boat capsized. The body of Joe Newby was recovered on December 6, 2021.
The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office further advised that the decision to suspend the search was discussed with the family of the missing boater.
