Lawrence "Sonny" Horton was born on November 20,1946 to Rosella and Lawrence Horton Sr. (both deceased) in the city of Clinton, Louisiana. Lawrence lived and worked in New Orleans and retired to the city of Bogalusa.

Sonny leaves behind a loving and cherished wife Maxine Horton of 25 years, who loved and cherished him until the day he closed his eyes on October 26, 2021.

Lawrence is survived by eight brothers and sisters; Climentine Clay, Irma Jean Clay, Nannie May Clay, Torrie Clay, Jova Clay , Corrine Clay, Otis Clay Jr, and Lonzo Clay.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister; Ruby Marie Lopez, and John Mack Horton and Clinton Clay.

Lawrence was the father to Lawrence Horton III, Jermaine Horton, Alvin Huwett, Melvin Huwett and Calvin Huwett. Lawrence also leaves behind four grandkids, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Just to add a little more to Sonny's history; he was a no nonsense father. He was the type of father his sons could look up to., and as a husband, he treasured his honest loyal and faithful wife Maxine, they truly loved each other. Whenever he made friends, they were his friends for life. We all knew that Lawrence used sharp words to express himself, but those who knew him knew that he loved from his heart. He will be missed dearly.

Services will be on November 13, 2021 at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the Funeral at 11:00 AM.
