Charles Edward Gutter, Sr.

April 19, 1958 - August 05, 2021

Charles E. Gutter, Sr. was born on April 19, 1958 to the late Mother Daisy Mae Holmes Gutter and the late Henry Luke Martin (HL). He departed this life on August 5, 2021 at the Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton, LA.

He worked at the LSU Experience Station in Franklinton, LA. He retired after 30 years.  

Charles was a hardworking man who loved people, his music, vehicles, and most of all his family. He joined St. John Temple COGIC at an early age and then joined Light House Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Apostle Jimmy Robinson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Lillie Gutter; two sons, Charles E. Gutter, Jr. (Shuntale) of Houston, TX and Quan Hart of Franklinton, LA;  four stepson’s, Born Smith, Samuel Smith both of Franklinton, LA, Stephen Smith and James Warren of Worcester, Mass; four sisters, Hazel (Fred) Crain, Etta (Rod) Magee, Chris (Jeff) Clark and Rose Mare (Richard) Lowe; two brothers, Craft Martin of New Orleans, LA, Henry (Jackie) Martin of Franklinton, LA; a mother-in-law, Ms. Vernice Warren of Franklinton, LA; five grandchildren; cousin, Wanda Magee of Houston, TX; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Brumfield of Houston, TX; a brother-in-law, Ray Warren of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, father; one son, Chad Thompson; grandmother, Hattie Holmes; grandfather, Myrt Holmes; cousin, Voncille Magee, Loucille Holmes, Larry Holmes, and James Holmes.

A drive through viewing on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00AM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Earlie Warren, Jr. – Officiating. Interment - Bethel Church Cemetery.
