Paul Goings

August 10, 1941 - August 9, 2021

Paul Goings, age 79 and a resident of Walthall County, passed away Monday August 9, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He was an iron-worker all of his life and was on the crews that constructed the Superdome, Causeway Bridge and One Shell Square in New Orleans, each one a huge project that he was proud to have been a part of. Later in life, he enjoyed repairing lawnmowers and small engines for his friends and neighbors. He was always helping people in need and was highly respected and loved by his community. Paul also enjoyed playing softball for many years and he liked to watch football and boxing. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Paul was a great father that did anything he could to take of his daughters.

Survived by: 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Tammy and Brian Brumfield, Paula and Larry Miller; Grandchildren and a Spouse: Erik Smith, Laken and William Stogner, Donovan Trevor Brumfield; Great-grandchildren: Allysse Smith, Lily Stogner, Emily Stogner; Brothers: Felder Goings, Ronald Goings; Sisters: Thelma Bryant, Cathy Spears, Debbie Rohner; 3 Special People who were close to Paul and provided loving care and support: Bonnie Kirkpatrick as his sister in law and friends Rusty Roberts, John Stinson; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Scarlett Deanna Taylor, infant son Jimmy Todd Goings, wife Linda Boyd Goings, parents A.T. Goings and Christine Barber Goings, brothers Lonnie Goings, Billy Ray Goings and a sister Francis Thomas.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday August 14th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Bro. Trey Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd Family Cemetery near his home.
