Monica Alicia Causey

December 08, 1971 - August 18, 2021

Monica Alicia Causey was born December 18, 1971 to Ms. Waver Causey and Mr. Leon Ross.  She departed this life on August 18, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center.  

Monica graduated from Franklinton High School in 1989.  She attended Southern University A & M College in Baton Rouge, LA.  She was a “Southern Jaguar” to her heart and was passionate about sports in general.  Monica also loved the New Orleans Saints, Notre Dame and Franklinton Demons.  Her dream was to be a Sports Broadcaster.  Upon attending Southern University, Monica was employed with First USA Bank in Baton Rouge, LA in various capacities.  She briefly moved to Austin with the company but soon returned to Baton Rouge, LA to be with her family.  

She is preceded in death by her (Mother) Ms. Waver Causey, (Aunt) Ms. Veronica Causey, her (Grandmother) known as “Momo” Mrs. Mary Rushing Causey (Grandfather) Mr. Edgard Causey (Grandmother) Mrs. Talmajean Ross Watson (Grandfather) Mr. Elbert Ross.  

She is survived by (Uncle) Mr. Larry Causey (Aunt) Mrs. Stephanie Burris Causey of Franklinton, LA, (Aunt) Carolyn Peters of Indiana (Great Aunt) Mrs. Vernell Rushing of Franklinton, LA.  Monica had one brother Mr. Lejacques Williams.  She also had a host of cousins, close friends and classmates.  

Monica was a faithful Christian and was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Franklinton LA.  The Pastor Rev. Rayfus Hewitt.  All who knew Monica loved and adored her.  Monica knew the true meaning of friendship and love by always giving and she never missed sending birthday cards or celebrating other special occasions with those she loved.  She always had a positive attitude, beautiful smile and a sense of humor.  Monica had wonderful loving friends, loving classmates and especially loving family members who cherished her.  Monica Alicia Causey will be greatly missed but will forever live in our hearts!
