Keybian Lewis

September 10, 1976 - June 13, 2021

Keybian "Fat Cat" Lewis, was called home by the angel of the Lord on Sunday June 13, 2021.  He was born on September 10, 1976 to Gwendolyn Payne and Elgrie Ray Lewis in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

Keybian was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. A.S. Nelson.  He was a member of the youth choir and the Mt. Zion Drill Team.

Keybian was a graduate of the Varnado High School Class of 1994.  He also attended Sidney N. Collier Technical College in New Orleans, LA.

Keybian was known as a skilled mechanic.  In addition to his mechanical skills, he was versatile in his ability to complete many tasks using his hands, such as carpentry and landscaping.  He loved taking things apart and putting them back together again just to see how it operated.

"Jerrod" or "Fat Cat", as his family and friends affectionately referred to him, was a devoted father and grandfather who would give his last just to see those grandkids smile. Keybian lit up any room with that big smile and infectious laugh.  He definitely lived life on his terms, but did so selflessly.

"Fat Cat" had a special relationship with everyone he encountered  with his genuine persona and heart of gold.

Keybian leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Gwendolyn Payne and Elgrie (Loletia) Lewis of Angie, LA; grandparents, Helen and Lonnie Lewis of Angie.LA; four daughters, Desirae Craft of Hammond, LA, Shuntae Craft and Nikara Taylor of Bogalusa, La, Keybianna "KeKe" (Samad) Lewis-Muhammad of Greensboro,NC; three grandchildren, Ti' Anna Collier of Hammond, LA, J'Ceyon Jones and Zoey Hughes of Bogalusa, LA; four sisters, LaToya Jefferson and Ebony Mingo of Baton Rouge, LA, Danielle Mingo of Houston, TX, Dominique Mingo of Angie, LA, one brother; Elgrie Kendall Payne of Angie, LA; three aunts, Carolyn Devonnie Banks of Missouri City, TX, Regina and Bertha Payne of Bogalusa, LA; four nieces, La Toy Jefferson of Baton Rouge, LA Shandall Payne and Ava McCaskill of Angie, LA, Candace Corley, Phoenix, AZ; three nephews, Ricky Jefferson and Kendall Payne of Baton Rouge, LA, Tyrik Payne of Slidell, LA

Keybian was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Veda Payne, Willie Obie Payne, Harriet Owens and Curtis Owens; his grandmother, Gloria Dell Payne; aunts Janice Lewis and Zelda Galloway an uncle, Brian Payne and a special cousin Devonda Lewis.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on June 25, 2021 at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana. The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM on June 26, 2021 at Kingdom of God Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
