Ira Konrad Batiste, Sr.

December 18, 1955 - May 18, 2021

Ira Konrad Batiste, Sr., age 65, died peacefully at home on May 18, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ira is survived by his wife, Rhea Brumfield Batiste, Bogalusa, LA: mother, Ethel Batiste-Henry, Bogalusa, LA: sons, LaKeith Pace Batiste, Clarksville, TN; Ira K. Batiste, Jr., Bogalusa, LA; and Ashton L. Batiste, Atlanta, GA; sisters, Derana Batiste-Newton and Cheryl Batiste both of Bogalusa, LA; brothers, Willie (Adrean) Batiste, Bogalusa, LA; and Ralph Batiste, Baton Rouge, LA; his special nieces and nephew, Constanzia (Eric) Churn, Cinniminson, NJ; Phillip Mark III, Greensboro, NC; Marika (Bill) Johnson, Fairburn, GA; Bliss Batiste, Bogalusa, LA; and stepdaughter, Summer (Michael) Weiler, Holly Ridge, NC. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 16 step grandchildren, a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and several close friends to include Michael (Janice) Dobson and Lance Jackson, both of Bogalusa, LA; and a loyal dog named “Soulja”.

Ira is preceded in death by his father, Stanley “Crawfish” Batiste, Sr.; stepfather, Hardy “Pop” Henry; a brother, Stanley Batiste, Jr.; a stepson, Rondy Vernon, Jr.; and a beloved brother-in-law Arthur “Art” Newton.

Per Ira’s wishes, there will be no service, a small private memorial for family and close friends will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021.  There will be no repast.
