Eugene "Blue" Martin, Jr.

August 07, 1952 - February 15, 2021

Eugene “Blue” Martin, Jr. was born August 7, 1952 and passed away peacefully February 15, 2021 at the age of 68 surrounded by his family.

On June 19, 1971 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Brenda Terrell. Two daughters, Amy and Amanda were born of this union.

Blue was a retired electrician and an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and anything to be outside. He especially loved spending time with his grandsons and playing with his dog Dixie. He was a hard worker who was always looking for his next project. He was a giver, he would do anything for anyone, he never told anyone no. He lived for his family and made sure they were always taken care of, especially his beautiful wife Brenda.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Terrell Martin; daughters, Amy and Chris Nickel and Amanda Martin and Dennon Shoemake; his nephew, who was more like a son Tommy Steven Terrell; grandsons, Andrew Nickel, Will Nickel, and Matthew “Deerbuck” Mizell; his brothers and sisters, Jay Dean Martin, Delores (Ed) Adams, Delane (Guy) Hunt, Billie Sue Spears, Tommy Terrell, Gloria (Glynn) Haley, Mary Lou (Daniel) Gill, Charlotte (Mike) Williams, Patsy (Harold) Ritchie, and Edna Jean Terrell. He is also survived numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and hunting buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene “Red” and Veda Martin, William and Lennie Terrell.

There will be a celebration of life at Pine First Baptist Church on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Following the church service, a graveside service will be at the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Adams, Jake Miller, Dewayne Terrell, Donnie Ray Thomas, Andy Nevers, Coleman Knight, Barrett Breland, and Kindell Keating.

The family asks that you please wear a face covering, practice social distancing, and please refrain from hugging the family or engaging in close contact.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the University Medical Center Burn Unit in memory of Eugene “Blue” Martin.
