Arlie Terry Goings

March 26, 1962 - January 3, 2021

Arlie Terry Goings, age 58 and a resident of Mount Hermon, died Sunday afternoon January 3, 2021 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was a 1980 graduate of Mt. Hermon High School. Arlie then worked alongside his family for Mt. Hermon Steel for many years and later owned and operated Goings Steel. He loved watching LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints football and joking around with his family and friends. Arlie enjoyed going to the movies and listening to his favorite music. He was a big Elvis Presley fan and even named his beloved pet dog “Presley”. Arlie never met a stranger and he liked talking with and hearing stories from the people that he met. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother and friend and he will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

Hermon; Son and Daughter in law: Christopher Nicholas “Nick” Goings and Kristen Goings of Pine; 2 Grandsons: Maddox Christian Goings, Maverick Gray Goings; Father: Felder Goings of Mt. Hermon; 2 Brothers and Sisters in law: Tim and Junie Goings of Mt. Hermon; Rodney and Lynne Goings of Austin, TX; 2 Nephews and Spouses: Brian and Jessica Goings and their children Brynlee and Tucker, Blake Goings; Father in law and Mother in law: Mickey and Sheila Painter of Mt. Hermon; Brother in law: Chet Painter of Covington; Grandmother in law: Della Ruth Simmons of Mt. Hermon; Also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Krystal Gale Goings Tetreau, mother Jean Hall Goings, brother Rusty Goings, infant brother Stanley Goings, grandparents A.T. Goings and Christine Barber Goings, Troy Hall and Hettie Spooner Hall.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday January 6th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Thursday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Thursday with Rev. Ray Wuerzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
