Norman S. Taylor
January 18, 1927 - February 16, 2019



Norman Standing Taylor, age 92 and a resident of Pine, died Saturday afternoon February 16, 2019 at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa. Norman was a United States Army veteran of World War II as well as the Korean War. He had a lengthy career as an Aerospace Engineer for McDonnell Douglas where he helped design the first large cargo airplanes for the military and other projects. Norman enjoyed riding around and liked to eat out at restaurants in the area. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survived by: Wife of 56 years: Aida Garcia Taylor of Pine; 2 Sons and a Daughter in law: Richard and Sandra Rojas of California, George Rojas of Honduras; 7 Grandchildren and Spouses: Andrew and Dione Escalante of Angie, Steven Martinez of Pine, Norman C. Taylor and Danielle Taylor of Thomas, Diego Rojas, Ada Stephanie Rojas, Nolan Rojas, Eric Rojas; 8 Great-grandchildren: Yasmin Alejandra Escalante, Anika DeAris Escalante, Ellianna Catalina Escalante, Lai’La Ann-Saige Taylor, Leiah Bre’Anne Taylor, Darricia Le’Niaja Dalcour, Malik Tylon Peters, Jamaya Le’Aisha Dalcour; Nephews and Nieces: Mario R. Garcia, Ana L. Garcia, Dale and Elaine Carpenter; Also numerous other family members

He was preceded in death by daughter Alma Celeste Taylor, son Ceasar Rojas, parents Monroe Taylor and Alma Barefield Taylor and a brother Earl C. Taylor.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday February 20th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 10:00 am on Thursday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm Thursday. Burial with military honors will follow in the Pine Community Cemetery.
