Ella Melba Laseter Story, age 83 and a resident of Franklinton, died Saturday night February 16, 2019 at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans. She was a member of Sheridan Jesus Name Holiness Church that loved the Lord and her church family. Ella always worked hard to care for her large family and even showed loving care to her extended family and others who needed it.
Survived by: 4 Sons and Daughters in law: Rev. Bobby W. Story, Jr. and Robin Michelle Story of Thomas, Rev. Cleveland Edward Story and Shelley Ann Story of Sheridan, Glenn Story, Dennis Story both of Franklinton; 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Shira Story of Franklinton, Selvage Melene and William McCain of Thomas; 14 Grandchildren; 14 Great-grandchildren; Cousin: O. L. Hughes of Mississippi; Also numerous other family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Winford Story, Sr. and parents George Lee Laseter and Ella Samantha Laseter. Ella was the last surviving of 14 siblings, those that preceded her in death are Annie Lee Mills, Clara Warner, Harry Laseter, Queen Victoria Hughes, Georgia Bee Smith Cooper, Jessie Lee O’Bryant, an infant William Laseter, James Laseter, G.L. Laseter, Odie Lee Whitehead, George Lee Laseter, Louis Edward Laseter, Mattie Udora Jenkins.
Visitation will be Tuesday February 19th at Sheridan Jesus Name Holiness Church from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Wednesday. A funeral service will be held in the church at 1:00 pm Wednesday with Rev. Charles Ray Creel, Rev. James Hamilton, Rev. Charles Rester, Rev. Brian Dunn, Rev. Jimmy Johnson.
