John Earl Caves
March 9, 1945 - July 29, 2018 



John Earl Caves, age 73 and a resident of Pine, died Sunday evening July 29, 2018 at his home. He worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for several companies throughout the area. John enjoyed doing mechanic work and carpentry. He always loved spending time with his family.
Survived by: Wife of 53 years: Verdie Jarrell Caves of Pine; Daughter and Son in law: Amanda and Herbert Sawyer of Pine; 3 Sons and Daughters in law: Ricky Earl and Lindsey Caves of Kentwood, John Scott and Stacie Caves of Pearl River, Teddy and Teena Caves of Sandy Hook; 8 Grandchildren: Kristi Sawyer, Brian Sawyer, Brianna Burch, Izaiah Caves, JoAnn Caves, Ashley Ferguson, Christopher Bagert, Kayla Davis; Also an expected grandchild; 8 Great-grandchildren; 3 Brothers and Sisters in law: Tommy and Nell Caves of Bogalusa, Floyd and Lola Caves of Pine, Donald Caves of Amite; 2 Sisters: Golda Sumrall of Franklinton, Ann Sumrall of Bogalusa; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill Caves and Agnes Corkern Caves, brother Roy Caves, sister Betty Brewer, daughter in law Aundrea Caves and granddaughter Ashley Sawyer.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday July 31st from 4 pm until 10 pm and after 9 am on Wednesday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12 pm Wednesday with Eld. Ed Penton and Bro. Steve Keys officiating. Burial will follow in the Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
