Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser today unveiled Destination Louisiana, a new tourism initiative designed to promote in-state travel by Louisianians. Each month, one destination in the state is featured in creative campaigns, that includes digital billboards in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Monroe, Lafayette and Lake Charles. The destinations will also be promoted in radio commercials, full-page print ads, on the Louisiana Travel website, and across all social media platforms.
“In Louisiana, we have a lot of great places to see and things to do. With this initiative, we are encouraging people to use their passion for this state as the catalyst to staycation here,” said Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser.
The first six participants of Destination Louisiana are Iberia Parish (May), Lincoln Parish (June), Jefferson Parish (July), St. Mary Parish (August), and Washington Parish (September).
