Dollie Cidette Sheridan Hobgood
November 19, 1936 - January 5, 2026
Dollie Hobgood went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2026. She went peacefully with her family by her side.
Born November 19, 1936, in Oak Grove community to Howard Charles Sheridan, Sr and Minnie Mae McNeese Sheridan, Dollie graduated from Pine High School in 1955 and immediately went to work at Morgan and Lindsey. She eventually went to work at the multiwall/Crown Zellerbach/Gaylord until it was closed. Dollie returned to vocational schooling and eventually went to work at the YACC program and then finally moved to Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary until her retirement.
Dollie, or as her grandchildren called her, Meme, had a blessed life. Dollie loved her Church family at Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church and was delighted in seeing the tremendous growth in that church. She has always been a faithful servant for the Lord. Her values and morals were driven from that faith. Her actions and words showed that faith and was most known for her giving of her time to serve others. She felt the need to help and visit others, whether it was family or just friends. She has always been a prayer warrior for the sick and needy.
Her daughters, Pam and Sherry, were her life’s joy. She enjoyed daily conversation with each of them. However, her eyes lit up when you spoke about her grandchildren and especially her great granddaughter. There was rarely a conversation that she had in which she did not mention her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-laws, Pamela and Kenny LeBouef of League City, Texas and Sherry and Shane Richardson of Madisonville; two grandchildren, Kristen and Spencer LeBouef of League City and her great granddaughter, Addison LeBeouf. Dollie cherished her nieces and nephews: Janene Dunaway, Elisa (JT) Thomas, Belinda (Glen) Blackwelder, Lynn (Toby) McBeth, Terry Stewart, Densil (Joy) Stewart, Steve (Caroline) Stewart, Donavan (Donna) Hall, Michael (Betty) Sheridan, Van Buren (Charlotte) Sheridan, Tinker and Jodie Goings.
Dollie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Woodrow G. Hobgood, her parents, Howard C. Sheridan, Sr. and Minnie Mae McNeese Sheridan, two brothers and sisters-in-laws, Howard Charles Jr. and Margie Nell Sheridan; Homer and Dean Sheridan; sisters and brothers-in-laws, LaVerygne and Robert W. (Bill) Stewart, Van and Helen Sheridan, Elaine and Kenneth Schilling, Virginia and Wilbert Earl Broussard, Pauline Goings; a special “nephew” James Allen Dunaway.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home from 5-9 pm and will resume on Saturday, January 17 at 10 AM until time for services at 2 pm in the chapel. Serving as pall bearers will be Spencer LeBouef, Van Buren Sheridan, Donovan Hall, Branden Sheridan, Steve Stewart, and J. T. Thomas.
