Estelle Stewart
March 11, 1919 - January 2, 2020



Mrs. Estelle Stewart passed away at her home in Bogalusa, LA, at the age of 100, on Thursday January 2, 2020. Mrs. Estelle was a native of Hattiesburg, MS., and a long time resident of Bogalusa, LA.

She is survived by her four sons Stanley Stewart (Fonda) of Texas, Aubrey Stewart, Jr. (Diane) of Bogalusa, Howard G. Stewart (Faye) of Bogalusa, and David Earl Stewart of Texas. One Daughter Sissy Stewart Rector of Bogalusa, LA. Mrs. Estelle was also survived by eleven grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Estelle is preceded in death by her loving husband of forty seven years, Aubrey “Cotton” Stewart Sr. Her parents Joshua H. Wilson and Mae Sumrall. Two brothers Jay Howard Wilson and Herbert (Buttermilk) Wilson. Four sisters Maude Burdeaux, Ollie Mae Stewart, Elouise Mizell, and Dorothy Adams.

Mrs. Estelle was a member of First Pentecostal in Bogalusa, La. She loved going to church with her sister Elouise. She was a wonderful mother and home maker and also loved crocheting and quilting and making red velvet cakes.

Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at 2:00 P.M. with a visitation following at 10:00 A.M on Monday January 6, 2020., at Brown McGehee Funeral Home, Bogalusa, LA. Officiating will be Brother Travis Houston and Brother Lynn Martin. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery Bogalusa, LA., Visitation will be held on Monday January 6, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 PM., at Brown McGehee Funeral Home, Bogalusa, LA.
