Sheriff Seal Honors Correction Deputy of the Year

Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Corrections deputy Barry Cooper was recently honored by Sheriff Randy Seal as the Corrections Deputy of the Year for 2019.

Deputy Cooper, a resident of Mt. Hermon, is a specialized trainer for jail staff and currently is enrolled in the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office Peace Officers and Standards Training Academy.

“Deputy Cooper does an excellent job working in our jail, one of the most demanding work environments in the parish,” stated Sheriff Randy Seal. “In addition to his regular shift duties, he serves also as a certified instructor for other jail personnel. It is my privilege to acknowledge him for his outstanding performance as a corrections deputy in 2019.”
