Gary Jefferson
February 26, 1954 - December 06, 2017


Gary Charles Jefferson was born on February 26, 1954 to the parents of Daisy and Lucious Jefferson on Bogalusa, LA. He attended both Central Elementary and Bogalusa Jr High. He moved with his family to Colorado and graduated from Boulder High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy for 3 years. After the navy he spent time traveling from California to Louisiana. He later decided to make Bogalusa home.
He married Caroline on June 26, 2007. Upon this union they had one daughter, Miracle-Natavia Jefferson of Bogalusa.
He was preceded in death by his parents Daisy P. Jefferson and Lucious B. Jefferson.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline Jefferson and his only child, Miracle-Natavia Jefferson of Bogalusa. He is also survived by siblings, Mary Jefferson of Baton Rouge, LA, Valerie Heglar (Jerry) of Morgan Hill, CA, Wandra Boyd (Clarence) of Oakland, CA, Lucious Jefferson, Jr. of Burke, VA and Eva L. Jefferson of Baton Rouge; one aunt, Mae Parnell of Chicago; his step children, Odelia S. Simmons, Kevin D. Simmons, and Jordan M. Simmons all of Bogalusa, LA; his mother-in-law, Sharon I. Simmons of Bogalusa, LA; his sister-in-law, Karen I. Gibson (Eugene) also of Bogalusa, LA, and also one special neighbor, Mrs. Odessa Young of Bogalusa, LA. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation will bel held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Bogalusa from 2:00PM – 5:00PM.
Funeral service will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Theodore Newman – Officiating. Interment will be held at the Bogalusa Cemetery. Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
