During this summer, Slidell Police Narcotics Detectives developed information concerning the
trafficking of illegal narcotics, specifically fentanyl, from the New Orleans area into Slidell and St. Tammany Parish.
The investigation led Slidell PD Narcotics Detectives to identify 41-year-old Dominick Curry of New Orleans, as a suspected narcotics trafficker involved in supplying fentanyl destined for St. Tammany Parish. Ultimately, detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Curry for Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl.
Slidell PD Narcotics Detectives continued the investigation into New Orleans, working alongside the New Orleans Police Department Third District Investigations Unit.
In early September, Curry was located and taken into custody. A search warrant of Curry's New Orleans residence was executed, which resulted in investigators locating and seizing:
- 1.7 pounds of suspected fentanyl
- 321 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- 200 grams of suspected marijuana
- 14 grams of suspected methadone
- Drug paraphernalia
- One firearm
Curry now faces multiple narcotics charges in both New Orleans and St. Tammany Parish as a result of the investigation.

Slidell Police Narcotics Detectives will continue following these investigations wherever they lead and working with law enforcement partners to disrupt the flow of fentanyl and other dangerous drugs into Slidell and St. Tammany Parish.
