Arcell Causey, Jr. 

December 4, 1952 — September 11, 2026

"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”   Psalm 116:15 (KJV)

Arcell Causey, Jr. was a precious son born to Deacon Arcell Causey Sr. and Mother Gladys Causey. He was born on December 4, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana. On September 11, 2026, at the age of 73, Arcell peacefully entered eternal rest while residing at Good Samaritan Living Center in Franklinton, Louisiana.

Arcell received his education through the Washington Parish School System and was the proud father of three children: Sherlitha Ducre (Marlon), Renard Causey (Brittany), and Shirley Brown (Dwight).

A hardworking man, Arcell began his career at Winn-Dixie in New Orleans, Louisiana. He later returned to Franklinton, where he worked alongside his father in the pulpwood business.

Arcell found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved hunting and fishing and took great pleasure in cooking for family and friends. His seafood gumbo was one of his specialties and remains a cherished memory for those who enjoyed it.

As Arcell’s health declined and he could no longer live independently, he became a resident of Good Samaritan Living Center. During this chapter of his life, he made the most important decision of all: he gave his life to Christ and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. What a blessed and joyful day that was! His family finds comfort in knowing that Arcell came to know the Lord before being called from labor to reward.

Preceding Arcell in death were his beloved parents, Deacon Arcell Causey Sr. and Mother Gladys Causey; and his grandsons, Renard Causey Jr., Justin Eric Hills, and Chancellor Parker.

Arcell leaves to cherish his memories his three children, Sherlitha Ducre (Marlon), Renard Causey (Brittany), and Shirley Brown (Dwight); a host of grandchildren; four sisters, Bettye (Ennick) Jordan of Woodinville, Washington, Donna (Erskine) Magee of Geismar, Louisiana, Diane (Lloyd) Van Dyke of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Lillie (Roy) Stueckrath of Little Elm, Texas; two brothers, Jerry Causey of Franklinton, Louisiana, and Tyrone Causey of New Orleans, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Arcell will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of hunting and fishing, his gift for cooking, and, above all, his decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Although he will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in the blessed assurance that his earthly journey is complete and that he is now at rest.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 9:00AM - 11:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home 2000 Washington Street, Franklinton, Louisiana 70438 with Elder Lloyd VanDyke -Officiating.
