Karen Lynn Carnegie

January 31, 1956 - September 3, 2026

Karen Lynn Carnegie, age 70 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Thursday afternoon September 3, 2026 at Riverside Medical Center. She was born in Jackson, Mississippi on January 31, 1956 and lived in Bogalusa, then Summit, Mississippi for many years before moving to Franklinton in 2014. In her early years, Karen was an avid tennis player and later was active in her church until her health prevented her from attending. She enjoyed traveling often with her husband as he drove trucks cross-country. Karen always loved going out to eat and spending quality time with her family.

Survived by: Husband of 51 years: Ben Carnegie of Franklinton; 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Charlotte Virginia Johnson of Franklinton, Jessica Marie and Todd Rushing of Houston, TX; Parents: Glynn Thurmond and Sue Gilland Thurmond of Franklinton; Sister and Brother in law: Rhonda and Don Skinner; Brothers and Sisters in law: Perry and Robin Thurmond, Gary and Pam Thurmond; Also several nieces and nephews and their families

She was preceded in death by her father in law and mother in law Olie and Ruby Carnegie and other family members.

A memorial service for her family and friends will be planned in the near future.
